Tony Menendez, DDS, MAGD Your Website Did you know that the Academy of General Dentistry, with more than 35,000 current members, has grown to become the world’s second largest dental association. Formed in 1952, we are the only association that exclusively represents the needs and interests of general dentists. The Florida Academy of General Dentistry is one of twenty national constituents that compose the AGD—we are Region 20 which includes all of Florida and Puerto Rico. The FLAGD website is dedicated to serve our Florida and Puerto Rican memberships, and in a broader sense, our goal is to provide any interested person with up to date information and current resources. We invite you to visit here as often as you like.
FLAGD established a Continuing Education initiative in 2007. We are planning to offer a series of regional seminars around the state so no one has to travel very far to participate in excellent CE. Meeting details can be found at all times on this site. Please review our PACE-approved program providers and support these programmers whenever possible. We also have posted our PACE application for any individual or organization desiring program approval for submission of accredited continuing education hours.
Under the “About Us” tab, we have listed the names and contact information for all state officers and for our executive director. Our purpose is to help with any problem that you may have that falls within our purview. We pride ourselves on working for what is best for our membership. We live in a very large state and as such, there are many demands by the citizens and legislature. We would like your help with some of these demands. If you become aware of any potential problems, please advise us as early as possible. Also if you would like to help our profession, please volunteer to become more active in leadership.
The Florida AGD is strong, proactive, engaged, growing and cohesive, but we are constantly aware of the need to replenish our ranks with fresh perspectives. Help is always sought, so please consider serving on our state Board of Directors or on any one of our seven component Boards. Lastly, take a professional moment to contact our newly joined FLAGD members listed here each month and welcome them into our fine organization.
